Tunisian CAL: Month 2 – The Tunisian Knit Stitch

Tunisian Knit Stitch

 

This stitch gives the look of knitted Stockinette, but is done with your crochet hook!

Tunisian Knit Stitch

Materials:

  • Worsted Weight Yarn
  • Size I (5.5 mm) Tunisian Crochet Hook or size needed for gauge
  • Yarn needle to weave in ends

Gauge:
Approx 4 stitches and 5 rows = 1 inch (2.5 cm)

Directions: (make 2)
Chain any number. (For tote, ch 18)

Row 1: (Part 1) Insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, YO, pull up loop; (insert hook in next ch, YO, pull up loop) across to end of ch leaving all loops on the hook

(Part 2) YO, pull through 1st loop on hook; (YO, pull through 2 loops on hook) across until one loop remains on the hook.

Row 2: (Part 1) Skip first vertical bar, (insert hook through the work from front to back between the strands of the next vertical bar, YO pull up a loop) across to end, leaving all loops on the hook.

(Part 2) YO, pull through 1st loop on hook; (YO, pull through 2 loops on hook) across until one loop remains on the hook.

Repeat Row 2 for pattern.

Last Row: Skip first vertical bar, (insert hook under next vertical bar, YO, pull up a loop; YO, Pull through both loops on hook) across to end. Fasten Off.

Radio Silence

I’m sure those of you who follow along with me here on the blog, on Facebook and Twitter are wondering why I have been so quiet.

Well, I am under some deadlines, preparing to leave on Friday for TNNA in Phoenix  and, well, we are kind of snowed in!

Phoenix Weather is really starting to sound good!  Fortunately though, I have my yarn to keep me warm!
